HOMEMADE ELECTROLYTE DRINK

Updated: Feb 3

Hi pals!

Hope this finds you well.

I feature this recipe on my videos frequently, but I get questions bout it even more frequently.

So I decided it was time to FINALLY put it on the blog.

It's such an easy "recipe" I never felt like it was something to put up.

But this will act as a great resource where I can direct you as the questions come in weekly.

Gatorade is out.

Homemade electrolytes are in.

Try out this simple recipe for a boost in energy.

Simply combine water (or coconut water), salt, trace minerals magnesium, a splash of maple syrup and the citrus juice of your choice.

It's quick, easy and the ingredients are kitchen staples.

INGREDIENTS

  • 16 ounces of filtered water, or coconut water

  • juice of one orange

  • juice of half a lemon

  • 1/8 teaspoon natural sea salt

  • 1 ml trace minerals magnesium (omit if you don't have it)

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

DIRECTIONS

  1. Juice the citrus. I like to slice a few pieces to add to my glass as well.

  2. Combine the juice with the water of your choice.

  3. Add the salt, magnesium and maple syrup. Stir & enjoy!

NOTES

  • This recipe can be so versatile. Try grapefruit, lemon, lime, orange. Add some strawberries, blueberries, mint, cucumber.

  • The coconut water is a nice touch if you like things a bit sweeter; feel free to add more maple syrup too.

  • Shoot for around 2-4 ounces of citrus juice.

Hope you all are having a happy day!
