my supplement lineup (winter 23-24)

Today I wanted to chat about my current supplement lineup. Something I get questions about all the time!

Remember, I'm not a doctor. 😉 Always be sure to consult with your medical professional.

I'm just sharing what works for me and the things I add into my daily life that help round the corners of my health and keep me in a state of homeostasis.

A bit of a background with my health-

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is a connective tissue disorder that unfortunately brings along many of its co-morbid conditions. They include POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) and gut dysmotility.

This girl seems to have them mostly under control but I do experience days where my POTS is more active and my aches and pains are more severe.

When I have symptoms, they are usually dizziness/weakness from the POTS or aches and pains from nerve pain and/or dislocations.

I place a massive emphasis on regulating my body with food to keep my symptoms at baseline, but supplements do come into play for me as well.

  • My supplement routine changes from month to month depending on the season; this is what is working for me currently. I'm always adding new things and switching it up to ensure my needs are being met; we are fluid beings and experience many seasons.

  1. CRANBERRY JUICE - Growing up I frequented the UTI train. We were good pals. It wasn't until 2019, when I was finally able to manage my period properly, that my UTI's slowly dissipated. After years of being handed antibiotic after antibiotic, I was finally able to combat a UTI with only cranberry juice and pills. Now, in an effort to maintain a distance, I regularly take cranberry to ensure proper health. I take one cranberry pill every morning and if I remember and/or have it available to me, I will drink pure cranberry juice around the time of my period. 4 ounces of juice diluted with 4 ounces of water. That's it.

  2. ELECTROLYTES - Oh, boy. Passionate about this one. Electrolytes are a fairly regular thing in our household but it wasn't until recently I started doing it every day. No excuses. & damn, I think it's changing my life. Between the chemicals that invade our water systems from crop farming and the ungodly amount of chemicals they have to pump into our water treatment facilities to keep the bacteria at bay, our water is stripped of damn near every mineral our body needs these days. Not only should we all be using a carbon filtration system to help get some of those chemicals out, but it is also so important that we are remineralizing our water. There are so many brands out there on the market, but I find them all to be too sweet and full of unnecessary ingredients - although I'd rather you use them than nothing at all. 😉 (The LMNT unflavored option is great to carry on the go. + if you like flavor, just squeeze a lime or lemon in.) Personally, I like to use a good ole combination of water + natural sea salt + magnesium + lemon juice + a splash of maple syrup.

  3. GLUTATHIONE - This is a new one for me this season. Keith started taking it for his Hashimoto's and after a lot of research I became interested in it for myself. It has an incredible ability to help regulate the nervous system. Which means it is great for aiding in support with conditions like POTS, anxiety and depression. It is an incredible antioxidant and helps build and repair cell damage.

  4. VITAMIN D3 + K2 - Did you know sun exposure is the best thing you can do to make sure calcium is absorbed into the bones properly? Did you know the majority of osteoporosis cases are geographically situated in the northern and southern most countries of the world - furthest away from the equator? Vitamin D exposure is NEEDED, yet the fear mongering of skin cancer has made us so afraid of the sun. I recommend 20 minutes to 1 hour of sun exposure before applying sunscreen. Also, Vitamin D3 is a great resource. If you are in your 30s or 40s and reading this + fairly small boned...this is your sign to start.

  5. VITAMIN C - Nothing like a little extra boost during cold season. I don't take this all year, but it always makes it way into my lineup this time of year adding extra immune support to my days.

  6. PROBIOTIC - There are so many different probiotics on the market and so many opinions on which ones are the best. Personally, I fall into the category of shelf stable. Simply because it doesn't make much sense to me that if it has to be refrigerated it won't denature once ingested into our 98° body. I'm only taking this currently because we are in a detox period with Keith's health and I figured it would be a good time to add some gut support. I also take this for a week before heading out on vacation and during (incase I get ahold of a parasite), if I've been sick or if I've had to take antibiotics (which hasn't happened since 2017).

  7. NETTLE LEAF - Me đŸ€đŸŒ Nettle leaf. You know those supplements that you just genuinely feel different after taking for awhile? This was me with nettle leaf. Occasionally I stop all supplements just to see how my baseline is, but this one ALWAYS comes back to the lineup. ALWAYS. Nettle leaf is incredible nerve support, wonderful for cardiovascular health (be careful if already on BP meds - this has been shown to lower BP), an incredible anti-inflammatory, helps support the immunes system + more. It is seriously the most wonderful.

  8. MAGNESIUM - Again, another pill that always ends up back in my lineup. Great for keeping me regular and helps those muscle spasms so much. Great aid for relaxation.


Well, folks...that's the lineup as of today.

Like I said, I'm always adding in and adjusting in an effort to find optimal health in each season so I will keep you updated as things switch.
