MY #1 TIP FOR SUCCESS

HOW WAS YESTERDAY DECEMBER 1ST ALREADY?

Holy cow, how did that happen? Where did the year go?

Something we often say, such societal creatures we are.

It’s actually a bit of an unnerving comment.

We all say it. I am definitely guilty of using the phrase frequently.

Maybe it's because we feel we haven’t filled up the year with enough good stuff.

Enough accomplishments.

Enough dates with our person.

Enough time with our kids.

Enough time visiting our friends and family.

Maybe we haven’t taken enough vacations.

Exercised enough.

Eaten enough healthy food.

Meditated enough.

Cleaned the house enough.

Loved on our fur babies enough.

Made that quilt we said we would three years ago.

Or maybe we really have filled up the year with enough good stuff.

Maybe we just can’t see it because we continue to consume ourselves by the things we haven’t accomplished rather taking a look back on the things that we have accomplished.

Or maybe we really haven’t.

Maybe we are subconsciously feeling guilty that we spent time on things that don’t really matter in the long run.

We are pretty good at defining our worth and whether our year was good enough by things like; job, income, education, political status, our belongings and the home we live in.

Make sure you put in those extra hours at work so you can afford that new car to compete with the one your neighbors just bought.

Make sure you get that big degree and end up with that great job with all the awesome benefits. You know, the one that takes you away from your family nearly every night.

Man do we have some warped ass image of what life should look like.

Maybe a little less of that.

Okay, a lot less of that.

And a lot more connection.

Hop in the car and drive. Just go. Take your family. A friend. Your Dad.

Stop by a friends house and keep your phone in your car.

Spend the day in nature.

Go have lunch with yourself.

Send the card.

Make the phone call.

Plan the girls trip. Or the bro trip.

Go fishing.

Take the yoga class.

Volunteer at the orphanage.

Surf in the Indian ocean.

Just do it.

Make it happen.

Those are the things that matter.

Those are the things we remember.

Ten years from now when you are looking back on your life and you remember that you worked extra hours every week just to afford that really cool car, you will wish you had used those extra hours to take the yoga, visit your grandparents or have that dinner party.

Remember to do all the ‘little’ life building things.

The things that actually build your life, not your ego.

The things called memories.

Those are enough.

This year was the best year of my life.

No doubt, best year of my life.

My soul is open.

My heart is full.

My relationships are fulfilled.

My self worth is blossoming.

2018 was a turning point for me.

I can’t wait to share all of it with you.

For real this time.

I am ready.

The first thing I want to talk about are accomplishments.

I know I have mentioned this before in a previous post, but please take the time and do it for yourself.

It will be a game changer.

You will continue to have success everyday.

Practicing gratitude is huge in our world right now.

& for good reason.

It's extremely fulfilling, helps guide you to what is most important and it makes you thankful.

Don't skip out on it, but noting your accomplishments will drive you further than you ever thought you could go.

Again, NOTE YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS!

Every single one of them.

There is nothing like looking back and seeing everything you have conquered.

Makes you feel like a badass.

I used to be able to read them all in the morning but now the document is so long, I don’t have enough time in the morning to get through it.

I have to skim now.

A year later I have accomplished more than I ever thought I could.

If I wouldn't have noted them all, I wouldn't have remembered half of these things.

Having it all in one place is such a power statement to yourself.

Start one.

Today.

Just do it.

Dare ya.

They don’t know have to be big, glorious endeavors.

Start small.

You will be amazed how far you can reach.

I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes:

"We often overestimate what we can get done in a day and underestimate what we can get done in a year."

Boom.

Mic drop.

How I note my accomplishments:

It's so simple, guys.

I have a pages document titled "accomplishments".

Since all my devices are Apple, if I open the document on one device and add to it, it automatically updates on all devices.

It's kind've magic.

My layout looks like this:

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

NOVEMBER 2018

2 Kkgkoingoinginksdlkjgsk

3 Hhgeioangkdlg

6 Dkskldifgosdngalkg

   Rlskdfjoisdanglksadjg

8 Wslakdjgoiang

You get the picture.

There isn't always something everyday.

Some days there are many.

Good luck!

Go amaze yourself!
