A year ago today I had my first Mayo visit.
I was intimidated and scared.
I had no idea what to expect.
But the unimaginable happened.
It was extraordinary.
Like who says that?
I say that.
Because they listened.
They heard me when I said I was done being poked and prodded.
They heard me when I said I was done being a guinea pig.
They heard me when I said I wanted to get better and I didn't want to do it traditionally.
& here I fucking am.
I don't have the magic potion or the answer to heal the world, but I sure have learned a lot from alternative healing.
& not just physically. Emotionally and spiritually too.
I feel like I finally found my little vessel in this universe.
A major turning point for me was this quote, "What you are doing now isn't working so why not change it."
(Because I was scared; that's why I couldn't switch tracks. I was scared of judgment. I was scared it wouldn't work. I was scared of pain & misery. I was scared of letting everybody down, including myself....all over again.)
But I was already in pain, feeling misery and consumed by judgement and failure.
The only thing that would be different if I changed things up would be the possibility of actually feeling better!
So I changed it and it worked.
We get stuck in and encouraged that this nasty pattern of procedure and medicine is the right thing, because it's the norm.
But eventually all it does is take over your damn life.
The skeleton of you is the only thing left.
Sucked dry of yourself.
But you can get that back, guys.
Hard as hell.
But you can do it.
The days won't be perfect.
You will have some failures.
But don't let those failures determine your route to happiness.
Because when you get there, it is beautiful.
Remember that list of accomplishments I talked about in one of my latest posts?
Make one and use it.
Don't ever forget how awesome you are.
Don't ever forget that you deserve to be healthy.
Don't ever forget you are worthy of happiness.
Never tell yourself otherwise or you will start to believe it.
This week's challenge: I dare you to look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself 5 things you love about yourself! I promise it will make you feel empowered.
Also - I have a lot of really cool stuff coming your way guys. I know it is probably annoying to keep hearing how great I'm doing, but not sharing a whole lot about how I did it.
To those of you who have reached out wanting all the answers, thanks for being patient.
To those of you who haven't reached out but do have questions about certain topics, please don't be afraid to. I will answer you personally.
I also have a lot of news to update you on that I've been keeping in my pocket. So get ready!
Thanks for watching my journey, pals.
The stars are aligning.
